Some notes on what’s going on in ActiveStorage

I work in a library-archives-museum digital collections and preservation. This is of course a domain that is very file-centric (or "bytestream"-centric, as some might say). Keeping track of originals and their metadata (including digests/checksums), making lots of derivative files (or "variants".
