Shipit! Presents: YJIT: Building a New JIT Compiler for CRuby Shipit! Presents YJIT: Building a New JIT Compiler for CRuby on October 27, 2021 at 1 p.m. EST

YJIT is a project to gradually build a JIT compiler inside CRuby such that more and more of the code is executed by the JIT, which will eventually replace the interpreter for most of the execution. The compiler, which is soon to become officially part of CRuby in the Ruby 3.1 release at Christmas, is based on Basic Block Versioning (BBV), a JIT compiler architecture Maxime started developing during her PhD.Maxime will give a brief overview of the project and Noah will share a practical applied demonstration of how to install and use YJIT.
