This is the start of a series on Ruby Pattern Matching, the goal of which is to provide a definitive reference on the nuances, best practices, and common usages of Pattern Matching, a new feature introduced in Ruby 2.7.For this post we'll be taking a look into Array-like structures and how they can be matched against.This series is derived from a proposal for Pattern Matching Interfaces in Ruby, and expands significantly upon the content mentioned in the document. Notedly this is also an attempt to expose more of these ideas to the community at large as a 22-page Google Doc is rather terrifying.
