A super simple way to add basic responsive styling to a Rails app

29-Mar-2019 2025
During my time at Flatiron, a classmate and I were given a project to work on together. The project brief was to build a Ruby on Rails app that had at least 5 models, some methods in the models, show analytics in the app, have the necessary views, and don’t use JavaScript (the focus was on using Ruby). Being a Graphic Designer I am all too familiar with the fact that people often don’t care what something can do unless it looks pretty first, then that it works well! I knew my time should be spent with my partner coding the best app that we could and therefore needed a super simple way to get the app to look nice! Here’s how we added some simple styling to our app and made it responsive for different screen sizes.
